Try a Butterfly Bush, they grow well in many different types of soil and there are around 11 types to choose from. I have one and it grows great.

Asclepias tuberosa (butterfly weed). Perennial with brilliant orange blooms in midsummer
    Zinnias (butterflies flock to these)
Salvias, all types. Perennials, usually large and bushy with purple blooms; many varieties, all good.
    Hollyhocks, the old fashioned type
Butterfly bush (as stated in the first answer) Many colors and varieties; they love the pink and deep purple
    Echinacea, all types and colors
    Rudbeckia, all types and colors

Another short busy you may want to consider is the “deciduous holly berry (winterberry) . It also has berries in the fall that is good bird food. you need two plants, a female and a pollinator

Rhododendrons, Azaleas, Camellias, Pieris, Mountain Laurel, Blueberries, Kalmia all prefer acidic soil.
