Painted lady butterfly host plants?

My daughter has a painted lady butterfly habitat and we were wondering if someone could tell us what kind of host plants they like to lay eggs on? We live in Illinois. We want to also know if we can but this plant at our local walmart? Thanks so much!!

    Favored nectar sources for the adult butterfly include thistle, aster, cosmos, blazing star, ironweed, and joe-pye weed. Painted Lady caterpillars feed on a variety of host plants, particularly thistle, mallow, and hollyhock.”
