What do black swallowtails eat in captivity???


Ive been waiting all year for this butterfly to hatch then out of the blue-it hatched. Its food rottened and I dont know what to give it! Wait changed the question where do you buy dill and parsely???

    Whoa! At first I thought you were talking about tropical fish, then I figured out you meant a butterfly — larva (caterpillar) I hope, since adult butterflies drink only flower nectar. Adult butterflies only live a week or two, lay their eggs (if fertilized) and die. They like a warm sunny environment. An adult won’t touch green plant matter. You should try living flower blossoms, with added sugar water. If you’ve got a caterpillar it might eat your dill and parsley, maybe not. Try a variety of common green weeds from where you found the eggs…
