The giant swallowtail (Papilio cresphontes) is threatened by the fact that they’re often considered pests in citrus fields and are sought after by collectors.

The giant swallowtail is a pest feeding on citrus trees in the south and ash in the north. So any spraying to protect the trees will have an adverse effect on their population. Collectors also have some effect but the enormous amount of acres of citrus has the worst effect.
