    any kind will do but I prefer the black mulch

    It’s always best to use a eucalyptus or cedar mulch around any fower bed. These type of mulches help to keep the bad insects away…..such as termites.

    There is a variety of materials available for mulches. Any would do. Take a trip to your nearest yard mulch pick up center where rocks quarter minus is good, as well as a lot of different wood chips and barks, as well as different composts are available to look at. Even crushed hazel nuts make a great mulch.Or try different color bark mulchs to make a pattern in your butterfly garden. Either way mulch is the frosting on the cake and gives a finished look to the garden. Good luck.
